Johannesburg, South Africa; New York, USA; 17 September 2013: Africa investor (Ai), a leading international investment group, today announces that four African Heads of State and the Chairperson of the African Union are confirmed to speak at the Africa investor Institutional Investment Summit at the New York Stock Exchange on the 24th of September 2013.
H.E. John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana; H.E. Armando Guebuza, President of the Republic of Mozambique, H.E. Yoweri Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda and H.E. President Ali Bongo Ondimba, President of the Gabonese Republic, will all address a dedicated Heads of State session focusing on stimulating intra–African investment flows and regional integration.
Jointly organised by Africa investor, NYSE Euronext, the Office of the Special Adviser on Africa (OSAA) and the Global Partnerships Forum (GPF), the Ai African Heads of State and Government Investment Lunch will continue a dialogue between global investment leaders, African pension and sovereign wealth funds and African Heads of State on investment partnerships that support inward investment to the continent and regional economic integration in Africa.
This exclusive, annual, invitation-only Africa investor Summit has confirmed over 150 global institutional investors, African pension funds, regulators and influential capital market leaders working in Africa.
Commenting on the announcement, Hubert Danso, CEO and Vice Chairman of Africa investor, said; “Raising Africa’s investment profile as a competitive international investment destination requires leadership from both the private as well as the public sector. We are therefore delighted that the African Union and African Heads of State will come together again to champion the increase of intra-African investment from its current low base of 5% of total investment flows. The Summit through the Ai Heads of State Investment Advisory Council provides a crucial platform to pursue these aims.”
The Ai African Heads of State and Government Investment Working Lunch 2013 and the Ai CEO Institutional Investment Summit and Awards will take place on the 24th of September 2013 at the New York Stock Exchange in New York, USA, during the UN General Assembly. Summit partners include: NYSE Euronext; Securities and Exchanges Commission, Nigeria; African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA); OSAA; Global Partnerships Forum; Bunengi Group and the China Foundation for Global Partnerships.
